LNO offers two kinds of workshops: Planning workshops and information workshops. Our information workshops vary depending on what the membership expresses interest in. These can be one-day workshops or evening workshops on topics such as capacity assessment, Individualized Funding, ODSP, Alternative house, etc.
The Heart of the Matter This is our planning workshop series developed in 2004 under a grant provided by The Law Foundation of Ontario. It is usually a two-part workshop held from time to time. The first half is directed by the Facilitator Coordinator and may include presentations by facilitators and family members building networks.
Wills & Estate and Financial Planning Explaning the legal and financial issues around planning a will and estate for a dependant with a disability. Presented by a lawyer and a financial planner, with financial support from The Law Foundation of Ontario. Click here for details.
Beyond Graduation Workshop A workshop originally designed and piloted by PLAN Vancouver. Parents of young adults with a disability who will be leaving the school system in the next few years have been very concerned about what the future will look like for them when school ends. This one day workshop is aimed at making this transition less frightening and overwhelming. The workshop provides a forum for information-sharing, goal-setting, and action planning for a ‘good life' beyond school. Click here for details.
